It is strong in FPU throughput, and that is a quality which is important for a lot of contemporary uses, like gaming for example. Me personally, I think the K10/Barc will do swell as HPC number crunchers, which is exactly what I want it for. Per work unit? Idling? It most likely is faster than what you have there. Well, not as good as hoped and not as bad as feared.
